Making a flash diffuser for Macro photography

You can make a simple flash diffuser to simulate the effect of a macro ring flash. See the picture at right, just use a white Acrylic plate of around 8x10 inch and 2mm thick, open a hole (larger enough to prevent any blocking of light to the lens) and attach a squre filter mount by using glue or screws. I have used a Hoyarex squre filter mount, you may use other brand or just glue a filter adapter ring to the plate, the plate can be made to any shape, circular may works better if your mount is non rotatable.

It works best with a T32 and adjust the head of the flash at 15 degrees down position.
